Distinguish the material request
Ask for the quoted genuine-leather or alternative material to be identified clearly. Do not use those labels interchangeably. Thickness, surface appearance and marking process can change how a design reads. If consistency between separate orders matters, record the selected material rather than relying only on a warm-brown screen image.
Design for the marking process
Engraving and debossing describe different surface treatments. Fine strokes, deep solid areas and tiny reversed letters should be reviewed for the chosen process at final dimensions. A vector outline can clarify geometry, but it cannot guarantee that every thin mark will have the same contrast on every substrate.
Plan stitching and garment care
Show where stitches or other attachment features can sit without crossing essential artwork. Confirm compatibility with the receiving garment and its care instructions. Avoid treating leather as a universal iron-on product. Heat, laundering and fastening requirements need to be reviewed for the actual material combination.
Approve a practical placement
Use a full-size outline on the intended item and check whether curvature changes the visible face. Share the Portland shipping postcode and receiving deadline with the quote. Keep a record of finish, dimensions and fastening requirements for reorders instead of treating a photograph as the entire specification.

Questions for this project
Can a leather patch be heat-applied to any cap?
No universal compatibility should be assumed. The patch material, backing, cap fabric and application method need to be considered together.
What should a leather proof settle?
Confirm overall size, marking treatment, readable artwork and attachment clearance. Appearance on a screen does not replace those production specifications.
