Map the available jacket panel
Measure the unobstructed area where the patch will sit and note seams or nearby decorations. Several individual letters need spacing as well as their own widths. Arrange paper outlines on the garment so the overall composition is reviewed before separate pieces are ordered.
Let texture support a bold message
Raised chenille is better considered for substantial shapes than for a dense paragraph of fine text. Keep smaller supporting wording in a construction appropriate to the detail. Ask how mixed textures or a felt base affect the final outline instead of assuming all elements can be produced identically.
Check the support layer
Clarify the visible margin around the main shape and the intended attachment method. A felt surround can affect both the look and the usable placement size. Confirm the full outer dimensions, not only the height of the central letter, before approving the proof.
Keep award versions organized
For a Pittsburgh delivery containing several numbers or award variants, list each design and quantity separately. Review spelling, orientation and the placement sequence with the person assembling the garments. Keep the approved arrangement for later additions rather than improvising a second spacing system.

Questions for this project
Is the letter height the complete patch size?
Not necessarily. A felt surround or finishing margin can make the outer dimensions larger. Confirm the total outline on the proof.
Can fine supporting wording use the same raised treatment?
Ask for a construction review at the finished size. Small details may need a different treatment or a simpler design to remain useful.
